ONE NEVER REALLY CAN FULLY APPRECIATE OUR FIRE DEPT UNTIL YOU NEED THEM AS I DID ON 11/14. AT 83, LIVING ALONE I WAS SURPRISED BY THE INCESSANT BEEPING OF MY CO. ALARM. TRIED EVERYTHING TO SILENCE IT. SHUT DOWN THE FURNACE, OPENED DOORS, TURNED ON 4 FANS, AND CALLED NEIGHBOORS..TO NO AVAIL.THEN I CALLED OUR DIST/ONE FIRE DEPT, WHO ARRIVED IMMEDIATELY..FOUR YOUNG MEN, CONCERNED FOR MY HEALTH FIRST, THEN TESTED THE ENTIRE HOUSE, THE FURNACE, THE OVEN W/OUT DETECTING ABNORMAL AMOUNTS OF CARBON MONOXIDE.. THEY CHECKED THE ALARM, IT'S AGE, ETC. AND SUGGESTED IT WOULD BE BEST TO REPLACE IT..TRULY PROFESSIONAL, EFFICIENT AND CONCERNED WITH JUST A TOUCH OF HUMOR TO CALM A VERY NERVOUS OLD GUY.., YET IN NO WAY BEING CONDESCENDING..I SLEPT SOUNDLY THAT NIGHT..I FAILED TO GET THEIR NAMES, BUT I WON'T EVER FAIL TO REMEMBER THEM..QUE DIOS LOS BENDIGA..

I'm sorry guys. I tried to make it all the way to Bloomingdale, but some Mexicans shoved a pole up my butt in Apelt Park just down the street and now I'm stuck in Riverdale!

661 is a 4 man pumper
662 is a 6 man pumper
663 is a 8 man squad/rescue
664 is a 8 man ladder

The wetdown was for the new 8 man squad 663.
